Early this morning, I sent a message to Matt Schultz congratulating him on his victory. I have also sent a message to Michael Mauro thanking him for his service to the state of Iowa. Michael's hard work and dedication to the election process is greatly appreciated.

I would like to thank you for your votes, your support, and your faith in me to do the job of Iowa Secretary of State. It appears that we received over 33,000 votes (3.13%) which is the highest percent and vote total in Iowa of any third party candidate for statewide or federal office this year and is believed to be the second highest in the 30 plus year history of the Libertarian Party of Iowa. The results prove that we ran a great campaign and reached many people across this great state of ours. In the past several hours, many supporters have encouraged me to run for office again in 2012 and I promise you that I will strongly consider running for Des Moines City Council, County Auditor, or State Representative.
